Higginbotham thinks will change the world. I have to say that I agree wholeheartedly. Sure, the application is still in beta and crashes a lot, and after I've spent many minutes downloading several video or audio files, they don't always want to play for me. But the interface is simplicity itself and yet elegant. They've made it incredibly easy to subscribe to numerous categorized feeds. Or you can search Yahoo! or blogdigger for more content. (Hopefully the search list will grow.) When you click on a subscribe button, just like a browser bookmark, the feed is added to your list (of channels). When you download a media file, it automatically gets sent to the "My Collection" folder. Unless you change the setting, all downloaded files "expire" in 5 days. I'm assuming this means it cleans up after itself. No more trying to remember what folder you left a large file in. What's great about Democracy is that it's OpenSource. The code is available, and you can volunteer your efforts. What I don't see is a way to offload the contents of "My Collection" to a device such as an Ipod, Palm, or other PDA. However, being OpenSource, there's no reason why we shouldn't see extra features in future editions, when more developers get involved. Democracy is already a great application. I can't wait to see what it's like in future incarnations. Holographic Internet TV, anyone? It's a prime example of the type of web feed application I've been going on about. And it brings us that much closer to a million channels of Internet TV :) >> Raj Kumar Dash, http://www.chameleonintegration.com/ Technorati Tags: rsscases, rss cases, web feeds, content syndication, internet tv, podcasting, vodcasting, democracy Comments
