The good news is that the websites of print media companies appear to be embracing RSS/ web feeds. The bad news is that they have one feed for each and every section. For example, look at Newsday's RSS feeds page. (Understand that I'm not picking on them in particular, other than that I just visited that page. The websites of other print mags and newspapers have the same problem.)

The RSS feeds page is promoting dozens of web feeds falling into about eight sections. There are no section feeds. Sure, there are three "top headlines" feeds, but these do not necessarily encompass all of the other feeds in the section.

Now maybe this is done by design, maybe not. But if you wanted to subscribe to, say, half the columnists, it'd be a bit of a chore - especially for people who are new to the whole subscribe to content via a web feed thing.

But wouldn't it be nice if you could check off the feeds you want to subscribe to and create one or more custom feeds? I'd do that, even though the feeds are partial-text (which I'm partial to myself, so to speak).
