Brian Clark at Copyblogger has written regularly about using RSS to promote your website. In particular he says that you make it easy for visitors to find your RSS button/ link. Put your RSS webscription button up at the top of every page of your website/ weblog. I've started doing that (it's a big project for me) and mentioned this to other bloggers and webmasters. According to the latter, making the RSS webscription button prominent has increased their webscriber counts.

RSS in Government is a weblog that talks about how RSS is being used in the US government. While this could be an interesting site, it has not been updated since May 2005.

Ubergizmo has a cool setup for their RSS webscribers. Mouse over the orange RSS square and you get a floating list of the different aggregators that you can add the Ubergizmo feed to. Very easy to use, very cool, provided you're using a browser that supports CSS and Javascript.

Google's GMail now has RSS feed viewing, although they call it "web clips". And you can only see one headline at a time. Not exactly optimal for reading. And hey Google, I'm still waiting for your Alerts to be sent via RSS instead of email. Thanks in advance.

A news clip on CNBC TV's Closing Bell talks about some value-added that Geffen Records might do for their artists websites, which might offer downloads for sale in the future. In that clip, they use the words "using a technology called RSS by a company called Feedburner." So Feedburner invented RSS now? Sorry Closing Bell. While Feedburner has done great things to promote RSS/ content syndication/ webscriptions, they didn't invent it.
